The CUCOH provides an amazing opportunity for undergraduate students to take part in discussions and debates about the future of healthcare in Canada. In November of every year, over 300 of Canada's top students and healthcare professionals come together in Kingston for this conference -- one of the largest of its kind.
To further address the value of research in various healthcare fields, CUCOH will host the Healthcare Research Competition, which is an abstract competition with monetary prizes open to both undergraduate and graduate students. The deadline for this year's research competition is Sept. 9th for registration and Sept. 16th for abstract submission, so be sure to submit your abstract really soon! Abstracts can be submitted to
[email protected]. For more information on the Health Sciences Research Competition, please click here.

Overview
The Canadian Undergraduate Conference on Healthcare (CUCOH) is a national student conference. CUCOH brings leading healthcare experts and undergraduates from all disciplines together at Queen’s University each November to foster exchange and inspiration. This year’s conference will be held November 16 - 18, 2012. CUCOH is currently looking for bright and talented students to present at the CUCOH 2012 Research Competition on November 18th. As an organization focused on the innovations and implications of topics in healthcare, CUCOH offers a Research Competition that showcases the efforts of students to their national peers as well as to a panel of scholarly judges. Monetary prizes are also awarded to the winners and runners up of the competition. Two different kinds of presentations are accepted into the Research Competition:
1. Posters which are put on display in the conference atrium
2. Oral presentations which are delivered to a group of students and judges in an auditorium
Each year we take presentations in the categories of Biomedical Sciences and Social Sciences to cover the breadth of knowledge contained within the field of healthcare. Examples of topics relevant to the two categories are:
Biomedical Sciences: Cardiology, Neuroscience, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Oncology, Physiology
Social Sciences: Psychology, Medical education, E-health, Bioethics, Biostatistics, Palliative medicine
Please keep in mind that the areas of research in the list are not exhaustive - there are many other
areas of relevant healthcare research that can fit into either category. This year our theme for Research presentations is “Innovation and Communication”, both philosophies which complement each other to form an integrated, comprehensive and successful healthcare practice. There will be a special distinction for the poster presentation that best embodies this theme.
If you are thinking of submitting an abstract but unsure of whether your topic is eligible, feel free to contact us
(
[email protected]) and we will be more than happy to assist you.
