car speedometer delayed
Hey guys,

I know this is not an automotive forum but,

The speedometer of my 99 camry is delaying in showing the speed. Just wondering if anyone had a similar exp. and what the root issue was and how much did it cost to fix

Thanx

There are way to many reasons this could be happening.

There could be a problem with the speed sensor depending on what is used on the camry. It could also be something as simple as something wrong with your instrument cluster.

It could even be a problem with your ECU, that would require a reflash/reset.

If you can take it to a local mechanic, try to find one that won't charge you for taking a look at it.

Don't take it to the mechanic near the cemetery at main street. He's a drunk, and I'm pretty sure he made my car worse.

Also when he said it was fine, turned out I was 1 hard turn away from losing my wheels.

The cheapest solution is to obtain a low price GPS unit with the ability to display speed. Use this as your new speedometer. I did this for several years on my old Civic without any problem.
