Career Services Upcoming Events
By Chad Fullerton
I figured I'd highlight some events being put on by Career Services. These are all very helpful events that can guide and direct you towards your future careers (which is of course very important!). If you're unsure of who you want to be in life, not sure which job is right for you, or if you're a first-year student looking for more guidance on what to take next year to start your career path, then Career Services can help!
November 6th & 17th - Career Planning Group
There isn't "one right career" for you; there are many kinds of careers in which you can be happy. The Career Planning Group is a way to start the process by looking at your characteristics and making sense of the possible outcomes. Moving toward new career goals often takes time and requires you to master new skills and expertise and develop relationships that can make the transition easier. We can help. Note: $35.00 fee is required at time of registration. Please register at Career Services, Gilmour Hall 110. Maximum of 10 people per group.
November 8th & 22nd - Resume Writing Lab (FREE!)
This hands-on workshop will guide you step-by-step through the resume writing process. You will have the opportunity to critique your own resume and receive feedback from a member of the Career Services staff and a small group of your peers. At the end of this workshop you will have the groundwork for a really great resume that will get you noticed by employers. To register, go through
OSCAR.
December 10th - Summer Job Search Workshop (FREE!)
Created to help you think strategically about your summer job search, this workshop will provide you with tips and advice about how you can look for meaningful summer employment. Your summer job can be an opportunity to "try on" a career for a short period of time so make the most of your summer experience and discover key summer job search resources at this workshop. To register, go through
OSCAR.
