you try out in May... its pretty good, try outs are all day.. you have to do a pyramid, practice some cheers, run around the track.. do some stretches and they see how your endurance is and flexibility.. its not hard to make it if you've cheered before.

Tryouts are at my house every Friday night or any night actually. Please let me know oh and tumbling is definitely necessary.

Haha, I don't think it should.
Cheer leading, along with other sports, should be for whoever
wants to be a part of the team. :S
If they love it, who are you to say "NO, you can't play"?, right??
at my high school, we had about 4 male cheerleaders, which is quite a bit in comparison to other schools who had NONE. :(

Hi Nick, a little info about the team: National Champs in Small Coed 04, 05, 07 and again this year in the All Girl division. Some years we compete coed, some we go all girl, depends on the athleticism of the males trying out.

As for tryouts, we had approx 85 people attend September tryouts, 35 were selected for the competitive roster. Of these 35, 4 had no prior experience but had a minimum of a round off back tuck.

Tryouts are in May and September each year and are usually two rounds, with the first round being heavily weighted in fitness testing. Previous experience does not make it more likely you will make the team, we are looking for athletes who can score well in the beep test, metronome push up test and a host of other endurance related fitness tests.
Contact me directly at [email protected] .ca if you want further info.
