Chem 1A03 Help
3.

(Points: 5.88) Select the two true statements from the following:

1. Only three different orientations in space are possible for d orbitals.
2. There are three 2p orbitals and five 3p orbitals.
3. An l = 3 orbital is called an f orbital.
4. The quantum number ml for an electron can never be less than the quantum number l for that electron.
5. For a helium atom, a 3d electron is of higher energy than a 3s electron.

I'm wondering if the answer is 3 (I know that's certain) and 5 because #4 does not specify the absolute value of l.
As well, I know that Helium atoms have electrons in the 1s orbital, but if they were excited and jumped to 3d, that would be of higher energy than 3s.
