Hey guys, one of the pre lab questions is pretty difficult for me, wondering if you can help me out.

Copper dissolved in nitric acid, produces copper 2 nitrate. After a reaction with sodium hydroxide and heating, copper nitrate changed to copper 2 oxide. Calculate the percent yield of this process if 1.075g of copper produced 1.075g of copper oxide...

The main problem I have is trying to understand and write down the chemical equations... which is probably a big problem with chemistry.
