CHEM 1A03 in summer
hey im dropping chem 1a03 for this term casue i did pretty bad on the midterms
so im taking it in the summer, just wanted to know how the course is in the summer pace wise and how the course is broken down. Is it still 2 midterms and labs, quizzes and an exam or one midterm, labs and an exam?
thanks!

Sorry to hear you have to drop it for the term. However, I had to do the same last year and I have to say the summer chem was a lot better.

They were 3-hr classes twice a week and they cover an entire chapter in one class, which means no breaking up of information and better flow for better understanding. It's still 2 midterms + quizzes + labs + exam but we didn't have a formal report to do and no molecule of the week stuff.

Best of luck in the summer!

so theres still 2 midterms worth 15% each and the labs are worth 15% and the quizzes worth 8% and the final worth 45%? did you find that it went fast or was it okay? and this term they gave us past midterms and stuff do they do the same in the summer? and what prof did you have? sorry im asking alot but im just superfreaking out about the whole dropping chem thing. i really dont wanna drop it but since i havent been doing well on the midterms i have a feeling that i wont do well on the exam and the extra time and efffort i put into stuyding chem will make me suffer in my other courses. i need a 70% on the exam to get a 64% in the course, do you think its a good idea to stay or should i just drop it. so the summer isnt taht bad right? its doable even in 6 weeks? and are the labs the same that you do during the fallterm?
Thanks!!

The grading scheme for courses may be different from previous years/terms. I wouldn't worry much about how the summer term grading differs from the fall term.

You keep asking the same question and the answer is that no one knows if it's a good idea for you to stay in the course or not... it's up to you and how you think you will do. The exam may be easier than the midterms but requires you to master many of the skills in the midterms... Obviously it's easier to just do it in the summer. Make a decision and stop freaking out.
