One of my friends took this course (he's in biochemistry) and he said it was tough.

I'm in the chem eng program and although we don't take this course (its designed for other disciplines), I can definitely say that it is very different from your program.

Difficulty wise, I cannot say; but there will be a significant amount of math involved. The hardest thing is that it will involve a different style of learning that you may not be used to.

liquidpapper says thanks to mo2000 for this post.
