Why are you looking at taking 4th year classes when your profile shows you as being no more than 2nd, maybe 3rd year? If you havent taken any electrical courses since first year, do you REALLY think it would EVER be a good idea to just jump into a 4th year electrical engineering class as an elective? It sounds like you are setting yourself up for a fall here.

my situations a bit unique and i have the room to take a cheme technical elective (which both these classes are). even if i took these in 4th year i wouldn't have taken any electrical courses on the way (if you look at the cheme course sequence), thus the question. maybe one of them is easy and doesn't require more than 1e03 idk just asking the questions here bub.

You can't take a course if you don't have prerequisites or equivalent. So first thing you need to do is to make sure you have taken similar courses, which I doubt you have, because Chem students don't do digital signal processing at all.

Na, you cant do it, if you dont have the pre reqs.. You need to do software 2mx3, software 3dx4, and THEN take that course.. I heard it is a pretty fun course overall.. 2mx3 is prereqs for many other courses too, better buckle up.. WHy are software engineering course codes so shady? 2dx4, 2mx3, jesus...
