Before i go into the lab for the chemistry lab,
what do i have to complete? i know i have to do
the prelab questions, but do i also need to do
purpose, hypothesis, etc.?

also, i forgot the order, if i have to do these
for the lab, is it
purpose, hyp, materials/apparatus, procedure, observations...
prelab goes in the beginning..?
conclusion... ...

You should complete prelab questions before the lab as the TA signs the prelabs at the beginning of the lab time. I put mine in the beginning of the report. You can prepare a purpose but I don't think a hypothesis is necessary... for materials and procedure, just write "Refer to Lab Manual for Chemistry 1A03 for complete Method". Don't rewrite everything that's in the manual that is waste of time and makes you look like a keener. The order does not matter, the TA will give you order for future reports in class. As for observations, you can prepare a chart beforehand to save time in the lab but that is up to you. Make sure you have all pages signed by TA before handing in your report.

If there is a chart in the prelab questions that you are to fill in during the lab would it be put in observations or prelab questions?
thanks

I think you would put that in observations.

TLulu says thanks to H.L. for this post.

How strict are significant digits in lab calculations? For example:
c=n/v
= (2.345E-3mol)/0.0100L
Then the answer would have 3 significant digits because of 0.0100L right?
So it would be: 2.34E-1 mol/L
