December 22nd is when the last possible exam is held. You may end up finishing early (I've finished on the 11th before). I'd wait until the exam schedule is released before booking the flight.

We go back to school in 2010 on January 4.

Here is a link to the dates you might want to look at for the school year.

I'm not absolutely sure, but I'm guessing that dorms stay open during the holidays so that students have a place to stay if they don't go home.

No, you can't stay during the holidays.

Really? That's surprising. What about international students who can't go home or students who don't want to go home for the holidays?

The residence system has a program which matches up international students who can't get home with off campus students who will be leaving. The international students stay off campus for the holidays since all the residences are closed.

You can definitely make special arrangements for the Christmas holidays if you can't go home. Most go home for Christmas though.

Other school holidays though residences are open for people to stay, reading week for example you are allowed to stay at Mac.

I was actually wondering about the Christmas break thing.. You don't have to "empty" your room or anything, do you? Since the January move-in isn't exactly the September move-in all over again, is it ?! =O

You'll be reminded again, but you'll have to unplug everything (except your fridge if you have one) and empty all garbage before leaving.
