Commerce 2BC3 info?
HEY! I'm a science student looking to do a minor in Business. I was wondering how Commerce 2BC3 is (content, difficulty, which profs are hard?).
The profs teaching this course for winter 2015 are: Wiesner and Schat. If you've taken the class or know anything about these profs, which prof would you recommend taking the class with?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
If you find the course description interesting, you will love this course! I took it this past winter term, and I found it to be fair. The midterm was alright, and the exam was alright as well. The interim project, and the final project were fun to do and the lectures were great. I had neither prof though unfortunately.

i had 2bc3 with shat... not my most enjoyed class. his midterms are difficult. his m/c options are really tricky, (a,b,c, all of the above, 2or more of the above, that kind of thing) so you really need to study really really well for it. he also does this points thing, in which you do different activities and earn points based on the activity, i believe it counts for 10%... I just found this annoying and you can just make up stuff so the point isn't really served very well.
I did not find the lectures enjoyable. can't say how it will be with the other prof. have you already taken 2ba3? because that is the prereq for 2bc3, and the course codes are changing too, so 2ba3 is now 1ba3

It was a very fair class and the assignments are easy and the midterms are not hard per se... but I found them hard to do exceptionally well (>80) but hard to fail them as well since a bunch is common sense. So expect to get very average marks in it.

This is incorrect. They are not from the test bank, least not anymore.

I had it with Schat. Our midterm averages were fairly low before he made some adjustments (60 < x < 63), IIRC. As mentioned before, he makes the MC questions trickier than they need to be. To me, it seemed he was testing something else other than your ability to recall and apply the information. I thought I did poorly on the MT, but got an ~86. I thought I crushed the final, but got an '11' (had slightly above 90 going into final). He does do some assignments where it is easy to get full or close to full points. I would choose another professor for 2BC3. Schat delivered lectures fairly well, but I did not find those tests fair... even though I did much better than the class average.
