ABOUT COPE
COPE is a student mental health initiative that connects students with volunteering opportunities on and off-campus. We connect students with experiences that will address the stigma of mental illness, as well as raise awareness about many of the issues surrounding it today. We were one of the nominees for MSU Club of the Year in 2008-2009.
VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
We have fundraising and awareness initiatives, workshops, and speaker series. We also have a new Volunteer Subcommittee if you are interested in being involved in actually organizing events.
We also have opportunities with volunteering with McMaster and mental health organizations such as:
- Kid's Help Phone
- St. Joseph's Hospital
- Danielle's Place (a resource and support centre for individuals with eating disorders)
- Mentorship opportunities at rehabilitative centres for individuals recovering from a mental illness.
If you can't make the meeting, email us at [email protected] to be added to the mailing list so we can send you the information from the session. Let us know if you wanted to be added to the mailing list.
