Yes, only because the comment I made didn't need that kind of response.

So if someone opened a dolphin fishery or domesticated them, and they started stocking delicious dolphin cutlets at your local Loblaws, would you still think it's "disgusting"?

If you had seen the movie, you wouldn't respond this way.

The objection is not purely to the consumption of dolphin, its the way the slaughter is carried out... perhaps its just shocking how cruel it looks (I would assume the killing of domestic animals to be slightly similar but not as bad) but its still pretty damn disgusting. If I recall correctly, the dolphin meat in question is extremely hazardous nutrition-wise it was given as snacks to school children. I also don't personally agree with putting any creatures in captivity for entertainment, but its especially inhumane in the dolphin's case, since they're sea creatures.

Two of the huge drives for this industry is lack of regulation and the fact that the 'farmers' are really poor and have nothing else to produce in terms of an income.

"Too Long Didn't Read": watch the movie before you make inane assumptions that its no different than any other domestic meat production

Needlenose, SilentWalker like this.

It would not be any different than any other domesticated meat product. If you took the time to read my post, you would make the simple observation that I wrote "if someone opened a dolphin fishery or domesticated them". This is distinct from the current state of affairs. It is a hypothetical question posed to the OP to question weather he or she is truly in question of the way things are presently carried out, or if they have a subjective preference to a particular species simply because it's "cute" as some have put it, or any other illogical reason for preference.

BTW, "extremely hazardous nutrition-wise". LOL.

Extremely high mercury levels...accumulation leads to some serious birth deformities if not death.
