Renowned Canadian economist David Dodge served 7 years as the Governor of the Bank of Canada (2001-2008), and is the current chancellor of Queens University.
He was also Deputy Minister of Finance in 1992, and played a large role in reviving Canada's economy by working closely with Finance Minister Paul Martin to eliminate the federal budget deficit.
David has graciously offered to give a talk at McMaster, giving his insight into the central bank's role in the recent financial crisis, as well has his personal story of how he rose to one of the most powerful positions in the nation.
The talk will be taking place on Thursday November 18th from 5:30-6:30 in MDCL 1309.
