machub.org works too if the other address doesn't, which happened to me last year for some reason.

it works fine
Sometimes it wont connect for a bit but it works fine
Just make sure to follow the instructions properly and you should be fine

whenever i try to connect to a user i keep getting connection timeout. this happens with every user. ive tried allowing the client past the firewall, ive tried disabling the firewall completely, ive tried being on passive move, ive tried completely uninstalling then reinstalling it. nothing has worked. please help!

same issue here too. It was working fine yesterday. Today I just keep getting timed out.."connection closed". Any solutions?

First of all, are all you people having the 'connection timeout' issue connecting through the ethernet port in your room in residence?

Try this:

File > Preferences > Connection Settings > Set firewall to passive

If that doesn't work, try connecting to different people. It could be that you're trying to download off of people that are off campus and haven't forwarded ports.

This worked. What is the disadvantage of a passive firewall?
