DC++ help !
Can anybody please explain me how to use and access DC++ ? I want to start exploring the treasure box I'm BORED !

You need to be wired into the residence ethernet/network to have all the benefits (i.e. incredibly fast transfer speed and everybody in residence's files). Otherwise, it will appear no different then any other p2p network (like limewire). The first couple days in residence though, go wild!

Kind of old, but should still help. You need to be in residence to actually take advantage, otherwise it's just like torrenting online except with less seeders. Plus, barely anyone is going to be on DC++ at this point in time.

The hub should be the same, i don't remember though.

Is everything still availabe on DC++ for non-res students??

Yes, but it doesn't go as fast (since you're not on the same network anymore and have to travel through the internets).

If you're gonna access DC++ from off campus (or outside residence for that matter), make sure you don't share anything good. Your upload speeds will be terrible (like 80 KB/s max), and you'll just piss off people by teasing them with epic files they can't have.

Also, you should watch your bandwidth (both downloading and uploading if they aren't combined).
