Deferred exam questions?
Do profs always change the questions for deferred exams or will it be the same exam people wrote in December?

Anyone have experience with this

It is 100% up to the prof. Typically they are not the same, though they need to cover the same material.

Yes, I believe they change the questions.
...not to be mean or anything, but they usually tend to make it a little more difficult.

I wrote a deferred exam in the past and judging from what my friends told me, my deferred exam was kindda different. I mean, some topics were covered more in my deferred exam.

It's up to the professor if they wanna change the questions or keep them the same. But it's good to get an idea about the exam from your friends who wrote it in December.
Anyways, good luck with your deferred exam

Thanks, so you would say it was pretty similar? When you right your deferred exam, are the profs there to answer questions?

think about it from the profs POV... you are making them have to do more work (writing another exam) when they could be doing research or playing angry birds. If it were me, i would probably make it harder.

To be honest i don't really remember...but for my deferred exam, my friends told me not to focus too much on the last few chapters because they didn't have many questions on it..that wasn't the case for me :( my prof put more questions from the last few chapters.
Overall, it was the same format...i don't really remember if the content was similar or not.

About the prof, i don't remember, but i think he was there for few minutes and left. I don't remember him being there the whole time.

Most profs have a bank of questions from past tests and exams. It's not usually too much work to make up a new test, though it depends on the course.

It *shouldn't* be the same, but some profs do choose to keep it the same.

Talking to friends , for two courses where it was 50 MC , the test were the same. for our elec eng exam which tend to be problem solving, the questions were harder. for one course where we got to see the exam bank, the deferred were def harder.

exams my friends have deferred :enviro 1a03, bio 1a03, bio 2b03, bio 2f03, physics 1l03, life sci 2a03. all these have been the same 100% so far. if i were a prof, id be too lazy to change an exam just for a few kids. there isnt much of an advantage in writing later anyways since other ppl are too lazy/forget and cant tell you what will be on it if thats what youre hopin for. prof could change it if they want but id say most of time they wouldnt
