I will be deferring an exam that I have coming up (Spring 2014 Organic Chemistry) due to some personal matters... Does anyone know when the deferred exam is written? Is it during the december exam period? Are there chances that it may overlap with my other exams? Also, is the exam of the same difficulty? Thanks.

Yup! Your deferred exam would be in the December 2014 exam period. There may be a chance it might overlap on the same day, but it shouldn't be at the same time because the Registrar's office should schedule it. The exam should be of the same difficulty but it can vary slightly based on the discretion of the instructor who has to write a new exam.
