Deleting of Posts my Moderators
How come moderators are just deleting posts now, instead of using the old system in which posts that moderators thought were inappropriate were just blocked with option of a user viewing it? Doesn't this just make the whole process less transparent? And if there are discussions that are about really touchy topics where people's opinion are very strong and varied doesn't this give moderators a way to delete posts that don't their suit own views. For example, say their was a thread on abortion, wouldn't this new system of moderating give a moderator who had a certain view on this issue an avenue in which to delete posts that had different views? I am not saying this happens and I doubt it does, but I think the system was a lot better and more transparent. I think the moderators are doing a great job and I don't have any complaints I just don't know why they are just simply deleting posts now.

The title should say "by" instead of my

The "block" is after someone reports a comment. Then the mods, when they get around to that particular comment, decide if it should be deleted or not. Nothing has changed; it's always been like this.

I sometimes debate making a Macinsiders-esque imageboard with no moderation (with the exception of illegal activities)

There have been a lot of posts lately obviously posted just to elicit a negative response (racism, cruelty. etc). Posts like that aren't adding to any sort of discussion, so the moderators delete them.

Amaryll has the right answer. Some posts are just blatantly obvious they don't belong there or are just spam and completely irrelevant to the topic and removed immediately. The ones that are opinionated or have hate are usually reported and then edited/deleted/other decision
