The QEW bus. I believe it still runs every half an hour from Hamilton GO Centre to Union Station in Toronto. Either go to the GO station by taking the 5A downtown, or to Dundurn street after the bridge and walk upto King St where there's a GO bus stop. I believe it says 18 Union Station or something like that.
To get back, same thing, go to Union Station's bus terminal and take the 16 at platform... 42 I think it is. It will drop you off at Columbia College and other stops on Main Street, as well as Hamilton GO.

There are 2 ways I know of. Take the 51 HSR bus to the Hamilton Go Centre, then take this route the Hamilton QEW express (#16) , one bus.

The second one, leaves from the Go centre as well, and it includes a transfer at Aldershot to the train, which takes you to Union.

the 51 is a local city bus that you would catch on campus. It goes directly into the Hamilton Go Centre. They tend not to be too frequent on weekends so call the HSR number before going
905-527-4441 and bus stop number 1119. You can also take the 5 delaware (heading towards downtown) and ask the bus driver where to get off, it involves a little bit of walking to get to the go station.
To get back from Toronto, you do take the #16 from Union Station, it runs every half hour.

Orr you can take any bus that is going downtown. Get off at Main/McNab stop(its a popular stop near Jackson Square). You can then Walk to Gore Park and take any bus that is going towards the Mountain and the GO Bus Terminal is on James street like 4-5 minutes/3-4 stops from Gore Park. OR you could get of at Main/McNab walk to James Street(its right next to McNab Street) and then walk like 10 minutes towards the mountain on James and you'll see the Go Bus Terminal

I think I've sort of figured it out by knowing that I'll for sure be taking #16 from hamilton go centre...but the only problem is getting there earlier because the earliest the 51 HSR leaves mcmaster is 11:42. Anything else I could do?

Like I said, take the 5A from McMaster, get off at Hughson (the stop after MacNab) and walk south two blocks to the Go Station.

Sdiddy; It most definitely does! Its only the 5C to meadowlands that doesn't run on weekends!
Alternatively another option is to walk to main street and take the 52 Dundas or 5B Delaware to downtown/Mcnab and do the same stuff as above.

OK yes I see. TWO last questions: where does the 5A come on campus and what are the times it comes?

The 51/5C/5A are all at the same bus stops on campus.
You can call the bus stop number or look at the HSR website to figure out the times. I don't think they're really reliable though.

OR check google Maps! Google Map timings are reliable +- 5 minutes.
p.s: One main bus stop is near Art Museum/Divinity college; but since all buses pass through middle of campus its all the same
