Ath and rec website would be a start, have you tried looking into it or was your first instinct to post this question without trying? D:

its a long process and i think at this point you might be a bit to late for first term. but my suggestion to you is go to the pool at mac, and ask one of the life guards the procedure.
be prepared to apply for OSAP and do other tedious paper work, as you NEED to have those things to work basically any where on the mcmaster campus.

No I have looked into it and so has my friend and we both can't find any info on it :S The closest thing we found was that there is a lifeguard club at mac

The lifeguarding club is NOT what you're looking for.
With the introduction of the new AthRec website, the information may be a bit difficult to find, but I would look it up online.
Because if you went to the pool and asked one of the lifeguards, they're very likely to tell you to look it up on the website, cuz the majority of them don't actually remember the procedure themselves anymore.

This should probably also be moved to the Ath-Rec section
