How do I set up DC++?
I downloaded dc++ but I dont know how to open it. The extension is .exe and I dunno how to open it. I know theres a post on here already on how to setup dc++ but I can't even get the thing to open up. I have a macbook, i dunno if that has anything to do with it.

for macs you use shakespeer download that, dc++ is for pc

It's asking for an address and password and stuff to connect to the hub. How does that all work?

i think you have to share some stuff before it allows you to join i think its 2 gbs? not sure though

You can use it off-campus, but the only reason to use it (the insane speeds due to everyone on-campus being on the same LAN network) is only available to on-campus users. Downloading from DC++ off-campus is about as fast a Megaupload and co (but requires extra steps not listed on the site I linked to).

I could not get it to work off campus but if you bring a LAN cord and bring a laptop to the library you should be able to plug into the wall (if you find that outlet) and make it work

Hey, were you able to get any textbooks using DC++? i cant figure out how to use it :S
