What do you do when your roommate is too nosy?

So last year i had a roommate who would constantly ask me where I was going 24/7..
first of all YOU ARE NOT my mother.

Second of all I felt like my privacy was being invaded.. she might as well ask me what I was doing in the washroom..

I didn't even know her so the fact as to why she was curious is a mystery to me

I was wondering how to handle the situation.. since I'll be living on res this year. I don't want to be stuck with the same problem.

I doubt you'll be stuck with someone like that again, i didnt meet anyone whose roomate was like that. Your'e MUCH more likely to get a roomate who has way too much sex in your room, and you get to walk in on it.

LOL it sounds like this happens to you quite frequently.
Cuz you know... they invented locks on doors for this very reason.

Sometimes people don't know how to talk to others in a way that the other person found odd. Perhaps she was interested in what you're doing because a) she wanted to join in with what you were doing [she was looking for a friend] or b) she wanted to make sure she wasn't disturbing you if she was going to do something in your room.

Well it's kind of inevitable if you and your roommate share the same room (as opposed to Bates or Keyes). They also give you both keys to the locked door for a reason........

Oh trust me it wasn't pretty at all..

The thing is she knew it would piss me off.. and do it anyway.
I dunnoe.. I wish there was some way that I could have let her know without being mean about it,

Wack them on the head with a rolled up newspaper
LOL but if it was bothering that much you should've said something. The truth hurts no matter what, you never know she might not have realized she was bothering you at all. Probably could have saved yourself a lot of these.

and don't worry you might like your new roommate. If its the old one I have a copy of the silouhette that you can borrow.

After the one incident, I would come back to messages on my door whiteboard like "MEL PLZ KNOCK IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN"

so I went away...
