What do you do when your roommate is too nosy?

Should have answered with a blatantly vehement retort.
For example "I'm going out to the forest to meet a couple of friends, where we will engage in Paganistic rituals and sacrifice a living cat to call upon the spirits of the Prince of Darkness. Did you want to come?"

I managed to unintentionally scare away one of the three different room mates I had in first year. He was a complete shut-in so my chances of ever getting laid with him in town were slim to none. Long story, but I basically had him convinced I was some kind of serial killer. Hopefully I didn't ruin his life.

I feel like I vaguely remember hearing about this. Did you write about it on macinsiders about a year ago?

Probably. I post on here pretty randomly, so I lose track of what I have and haven't said. I was kicked out of Hedden and upon moving to Matthews my friends jokingly told the poor guy that I was kicked out for getting in a knife fight.

A friend of mine told me her ex-bf drove his annoying room mate out of McKay by coming home late at night, turning on pornography and blasting the volume for a few seconds "by accident" every single night. Supposedly drove the guy nuts.

Yep, I can see how having a roomate that acts interested in your life is a bad thing.

I hope you get stuck with a roomate who doesn't give two ****ing shits about you and wants nothing to do with you. Then come complaining. Trust me, the latter is way worse.

okay,
My roomies were noisey and stayed up late, but they were really considerate and understanding of the fact that A.) I wake up early B.) I rarely take afternoon naps C.) I'm sensitive to sounds when I'm trying to sleep. They would often had late night study groups in the next door, and I was fine with it, in fact made a lot of friends. I just wore earplugs that you can get at the bookstore fore like 33 cents a pair, and it blocks out the talking that happened next door. You can't expect them to make zero sound, but you can come up with an agreement, and get by if you're the type who sleeps early and are next to noisy people.

I think the library gives earplugs for free... can anyone confirm?
