I found her tests very straightforward if you go by her notes, and then read the sections of the text that correspond to her diagrams and slides. Often, the full chapter has extraneous information, but the book is decent for supplementing lectures.
I was not a fan of the Lodish Cell Bio text, though. While the information was thorough, it was terribly organized, with key components to one signal transduction pathway mentioned in other sections, instead of flowing coherently. It's a pain to sift through but it'll enhance your work and make the material stick a lot better.
