I'm short a bit of cash and can't buy the textbooks require. Does Mac library have those books for borrow so I can survive a bit before I can buy them?

Check www.coursesmart.com for your books.
I'm using the 14 day free trials for my books until OSAP come in so I can keep up with the reading before I buy them on there.

MacPack, spyridm like this.

Try to find the ebook online. I also think there is a program where you rent textbooks

Renting book prices are awful, don't ever go for those. Trials are fine, but I can usually buy two books online and have it shipped to me for the cost of a rental.

Unless a textbook is on reserve, it can be signed out like a regular book (i.e. for two weeks) as long as it is in the library. At the end of the two weeks, you can sign it out again - providing no one has placed a request for it in the meantime.

You can find them in the reference section of the library and you can photo copy the pages you need for now for super cheap
