I'm sorry if you find this annoying, BUT my marks are so bad! I do awesome on assignments but on my midterms, I barely passed, and I failed one :/. I dropped German too, cause it got too hard. I'm terrified of getting kicked out of University, because I'm a good student, I just don't understand why my marks are so low.

Is it always like this for first years? Like drastic mark drops? TA's tell me not to get discouraged by some marks, but its hard not to...i feel like a total failure :'(

Your marks are likely low because you're finding high school different from university, and haven't adjusted. You might have been a good student in your high school, but things don't work the same way here. There are higher expectations, a higher work load, and in many cases less academic support (or at least, less support forced on you--it's there if you take the time to seek it out).
No, it's not always like this for first years. Some first years find their marks go up, if they learn better in a university setting. Students more used to the high school way of doing things tend to find their marks drop. If your marks are low then you should reevaluate your approach to your coursework--in your case, focus on different methods of studying for midterms, and take a look at past midterms to learn what screwed you over...this is especially important with exams coming up.

I found if you find people that work on similar things and find alternate sources of help (ie office hours) then it helps a lot.

i found that many of my marks dropped after the first term test, but it was a wake up call and then improved after that. if you find that you are spending a lot of time on distractions while "working" then print what you can and go to the library, or borrow one of their laptops (which suck to much to play games) so you stay more focused
