Yeah I just listened to Raise Your Weapon over again and I realized it's def. Dubstep.
Also I think I've heard this song before. But I like it :B
The "dubsteppish" bass is definitely there but it's not as distorted as other songs. I wouldn't have minded an extra bit of grit to it, though.

Got into dubstep in Janurary. It suddently appeared in all my YouTube subsciption videos. And now I can't get enough of it lol Its gotten real popular on YT and now I use it in my videos too. So ya I have a lot of friends online that love it, haven't met many here though.

When I went to college I noticed a lot of people actually like dubstep. Coincidentally they were the type of people who were into drugs and the rave scene... There's a lot of events in toronto that focus on dubstep as far as I've been told...

I prefer hard electronic to Dubstep, check out The Bloody Beetroots to see what i'm talking about, or even some tracks from 80kidz. I won't lie, i listen to deadmau5 and wolfgang gartner, but i'd have to say that mostly all of dubstep sounds relatively the same, or as least the progression up until the chorus does anything.

Life of a Dubstep Song:

1) Kick-Snare/Repeat
2) Introduce Secondary Sample
3) Crescendo
4) Bass Drop
5) Wub wub wub wub (to infinity and beyond)

Just too linear for me :(

Skrillex - "Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites"

Vaski - "Get Down"

This is REAL dubstep, no offense but Deadmau5 uses the same beat over and over again up until the crescendo, this stuff at least uses samples.

I'm into the more "softcore" dub step...if you can even call it that. I was turned on to dubstep by really hardcore DJs like Boregore, but have since grown fond of the more relaxing and less industrial DJs. Skream is always a favorite of mine.

I can't stand the big room bassy stuff that has gone into the mainstream. I prefer labels such as Skull Disco, Hyperdub, Sub:Stance, Applepips.

For CD's I recommend Worth the Weight: Bristol Dubstep Classics, Scientist Launches Dubstep Into Outer Space, Scuba's mix for the Sub:Stance series, Dubstep Allstars 6, Fabric 50, Fabric 55.

I'll play dubstep on my radio show occasionally, but I like to pitch it down and mix it with techno and ambient.
