Has anyone taken Environment. Econ. with Khan? I was wondering if anyone could give me their opinion of it. Was the workload fairly light? How difficult were the midterms? Thanks for any help .

well its the easiest course I have taken at Mac, even easier than econ 1b03. workload was extremly light. We were done with the content in early November and after that we did 1 month of review. As for the midterms, they are exactly from the practice test in the courseware. he does not even change the numbers. so it is difficult to get less than 90 in midterms. final was also fair.

Difficult to get less than 90, you say?! Sounds like a challenge to me. I hope it's pretty light :(. I didn't get into LifeSci2n03 'cause they decided to change the prerequisites when I wanted to get into it.

I don't think there is easier course than this. Just spend 2-3 hrs/week and you will ace the course.

1b03 was not bad. I hear 2d03 was also taught by Khan, and was also pretty easy. Have you taken that before, Karna?

i took both do3 and jo3 and both are equally easy, but i did not like 2d03 because it was mostly theory while j03 was mix of calculation and theory. But its easy to get 12 in both.
people say the khan's courses are easy because most of his midterm questions are same as practice test. most of the time he does not change the numbers. plus he also gives lot of bonus quizzes

I just looked at the course outline for last term and there was an essay component. Was that also marked pretty leniently?

yup. you have to come up with an env issue and discuss its economics (cost, gpd, negative externality, how much pollution etc.). most of the people did well on the essay and TAs are not picky about it

Oh wow, I have no idea where I'd start looking for info like that. Is it as crazy as science essays, where we have to cite everything or else the entire human race is damned?

If not? Kiss med-school good bye. there is some motivation.
hehehe, ty man.

Ahaha. That's pretty effective motivation. I hear there is no way to understand this man. If I don't go to his classes, will I endure the wrath of Khan? I keep hearing about these "bonus marks" in class, but are people referring to quizzes? I went on Ratemyprofessors (lol...) and people are saying he gives easy midterms and murders you on the exam.

nop his finals are not too hard. i skipped 50% of the classes and still did well in j03 and d03. you just have to study his courseware. 1st few days will be hard to understand him but you will get used to his accent.
