Eng second year
I was given free choice for my second year program but I am interested in getting into Eng and Society or Eng and International Studies. Do I still get to use the free choice to choose what discipline I go into but my admission to Eng and Society or int. studies is based on my grades first year?

If not, how does it work?

Society is just extra. The free choice is for the type of discipline (mechanical, chemical, civil etc). If you want management/society/international I'm sure they will give it too.

That is correct, that is how the system works at mac for eng. You use the free choice to get into anything like civil, mechanical...except for like biomedical and management and maybe chem eng&bio.

You need to work hard to get into management (7+). Society and International studies are easy to get into. For International studies i am pretty sure you just need like a 4, because not a lot of people go into it For society, i think it's around 4 too, maybe a bit higher.

Remember that failing anything takes away the free choice from you..but you can drop courses, that doesn't affect the free choice.
