Easier depends on your work habits, interests, etc., but it is fairly easy to fall behind in English courses because of the amount of readings vs. the class time spent on each. Personally, I found shorter genres to be the more interesting course because I found that the reading list that I had for Longer Genres (which, most likely, changes from year to year) was generally not my "type" of writing, whereas if it didn't interest me in Shorter Genres I was done with it rather quickly.

I agree with what Dorey said. Longer Genres is completely subjective depending on what material the prof chooses, and you're stuck reading a novel you may dislike for 1-2 weeks. With shorter genres, you're done with it in a day. It's also a lot more fast paced and generally more fun.

I actually found 1AA3 to be easier.

Everyone always talks about how you need to read entire novels in this class but you actually don't. Get a good summary of the main events/characters online and you'll be fine for the exam, and the only issue might be the essays (even then you'll need to read 1 book and 1 play tops).

It's really up to you thought. I'd recommend 1A03 if Prof Zuroski is teaching it again, she's a good prof.

This doesn't necessarily work for other English classes though (see: the exam for 2H06)...

Slightly unrelated, but is there any first year English course that you can get a 12 in?

I went for the shorter genres because I enjoy reading poetry and I'm a slow reader so it might take me forever to finish a book if I was in longer genres.

It's all up to you!
