Ensiferum + Finntroll
Feb. 22, 2011 @ Opera House. Doors @ 7pm. $28.50

Seen both live before, good shows. I personally dislike the Opera House as a venue, but it's not bad. I hope the supporting acts don't suck (ie. Blackguard).

Anybody interested?

Opera House used to be badass. All the battle of the bands gigs used to be there back in high school. I haven't been there forever though. I think the last time I went was to see Radiohead play there, in the Pablo Honey days.

From the perspective of a concert photographer, the Opera House BLOWS. Security sucks, the lighting sucks, the list goes on. Even when I have a legit media clearance I still have problems. My buddy once got called out and patted down on his way OUT to go HOME and the end of the night, even though _I_ was the guy with the big baggy (camera) bag. What the ****?!

Horseshoe Tavern, albeit smaller is where it's at. My favourite venue for sure.

I saw Dirty Projectors at The Opera House last week, I thought it was one of the better venues I've been to. Good sight lines and sound. Crappy location though.

Last time Finntroll came around, my friends and I stood at one of their circular tables and just talked between sets. Manager or whatever came up to us and demanded us--quite rudely at that-- to lift and empty our hands because she thought we were doing a drug deal or some shit. Dumb ****. Opera House is easily the worst venue I've been to. Management is douchey, they're inconsistent with spacing (balcony open or closed), sound tends to be mediocre, etc.

Dislike.

EDIT: Update on tour info!

The Finnish Metal Tour 2
Finntroll, Ensiferum, Rotten Sound, & Barren Earth.

Not a Nazi, but sure. Follow the image that's being propagated. I mean, university--especially a humanities degree-- isn't supposed to teach you to think critically, right? Because it's not like you'll be getting a job out of it.

I clearly admitted to just checking out the Wikipedia page, and I was obviously being OTT to make a point.

He clearly isn't a great person by any stretch of the imagination though.

I'll ignore your continued Humanities bashing though since you're clearly just an ass.

Sounds like somebody's just a touch mad.

And considering the bullshit Nazism label the media--from both Norway and the industry as a whole--associate with Varg, any attempt (even as "OTT" [which is a total cop out claim, fyi]) is displeasing, to say the least. Shows that whomever made the claim is uneducated as to the matter.
