DOOO ITTT! It doesn't matter if you've taken French before or not, the point of the program is to learn how! And yeahh, that whole oath thing is kind of scary. My friend did it just this summer and she said some girl was kicked out of the program after being given some warnings lol. She said it depends on where you are though and how strict they are on enforcing that rule. Anywho, the whole point of the oath is to get you to develop your communication skills, so there's nothing to be afraid of really. Plus, there are a ton of supportive people you'll meet who will be in the same position as you and who will help you along the way too! DO IIIIT

Hehe. It's not apparently quite different, it IS quite different. XD

France French is disgusting. :O

And if you go to Quebec, get some fresh fromage en grain from Chalifoux in Sorel. It's orgasmic and worth the drive.

(And it's true, Quebecois will talk back to you in English if you speak France French. France French is insulting. ._.)

Pick up Quebec French, it's much more authentic. ^^

And don't go to Montreal to learn French. They practically speak English there. The best way to learn is to go somewhere that speaks all french and force yourself to speak/learn it. It's not like you have a choice. XD

I disagree. Quebec French is just not french to me. I mean French originated in France, so France french is authentic. In Quebec they just changed some of it, to make it authentic to them.

I know a friend who did the Explore program last year at Trois-Pistoles, and she loved it.I'm planning to apply as well. Sounds like a great opportunity to anyone! Regardless of their level of French.

There are some universities which are more strict with the oath. I don't remember taking an oath but we did all get warnings. As long as you are trying to speak french you're good. The french I learned in Moncton was very different from the french I'd learned in high school. Pronounciations of words are different and common sayings are different too.

I heard that St. Anne's or something like that is ridiculously strict. They were only allowed on phones at certain times and stuff too. I think thats a bit much.

Has anyone been to or heard of the U Laval program, or any of the programs in Quebec city?

Also, in the form, we need to get a section signed by a university official to confirm that we attend a certain school. Where do I need to go to get that section filled out?

You go to the Office of the Registrar and leave the form with them. It only took a couple of days for me to get it back

By authentic, I refer to the sound of Quebec French. (explained in other posts months ago)
