I failed chem 1a03
I honestly feel like a complete shithead. i GOT 12S ON THE OTHER 4 SUBJECTS BUT FAILED CHEM. :(((

I was wondering if you can somehow do chem next year while still being accepted into level 2? I CANT do it in the summer, its really important, so I was wondering if I can get a waiver or some type of permission to do it in level 2? I know a friend who did it last year.

Thank you in advance

see an academic advisor... you CAN take it in second year if you want... but getting into a second year program with chem 1a03/1aa3 as an admission requirement would be an issue

most of the courses that have chem 1a03 as a pre-requisite also have chem 1aa3 (which u need 1a03 to take)

taking both in summer school would probably be the best option... but u said u 'cant'

Normally I would say you're screwed and that you have to take it in the summer to get to level 2, but having 12's in your other courses certainly puts you in a unique position.

Talk to a counsellor. You may be able to do it next year if you can prove that you failed for reasons other than it was too hard for you (trouble at home, lack of time for focus .etc).

Worst case scenario, you end up in limbo between first and second year next year and end up having to take an extra semester at the end of your schooling.

Were you expecting to fail? If not, ask the professor to see your exam, maybe they marked it wrong. If not follow the advice the other people have given. I'd also recommend talking with someone about why Chem posed a much greater challenge for you than your other courses and what you can do to improve when you retake it. Student Success Centre might be able to help.

PS, Right now you are still making the Dean's honour list from the looks of it, if that's any consolation.
