Faithfully Yours, E. Pauline Johnson

(Emily) Pauline Johnson was a famous writer and poet, well-known for her poem "The Song My Paddle Sings". The Pauline Johnson Archives at McMaster University feature the works of the author as well as information about her life as a half-Mohawk woman from Six Nations in the early twentieth century.

The Woodland Cultural Centre and Chiefswood Museum National Historic Site are pleased to announce: 'Faithfully Yours, E. Pauline Johnson'.
McMaster Indigenous Studies and English Professor Rick Monture has been involved with planning this exhibit. This exhibit will premiere at the Woodland Cultural Centre on Saturday, 15th August 2009 at 3:00 p.m and ends on December 24 2009. The event is running in conjunction with the Planet IndigenUS festival at the Harbourfront Center in Toronto.

This first ever national exhibit will feature the life and times of a remarkable woman and her artistry. Some examples include; early unpublished works, manuscripts, correspondence, voice recordings, photos, etc. For additional information you can check out the Cheifswood Museum website and the event poster.


In conjunction with 'Faithfully Yours', E. Pauline Johnson, Cheri Maracle will perform in this play created by Dinah Christie, on the poetess Pauline Johnson. This event is on August 16, 2009 at 3:00 pm at the Woodland Cultural Centre. For more information please see Woodland Cultural Centre website.
