The fight against ennui
Okay, sound off! What are your tricks to avoid expiring from boredom/monotony of homework?

I type the beginning of simple questions in google to see what other people are trying to find, always interesting.

Try these:

Why am I...

Why am I afraid ...

how many weeks...

How come I ...

Is ... (put in the space after "is")

2 hours of studying, 1 episode of Battlestar Galactica prevents me from going insane.

I let myself watch my favourite TV shows, even if I have a lot of work. I'll go crazy if I just work, work, work and don't get to keep up with the few shows I actually watch. I try and work from the time I get home (I was probably working at school before that too) until the show comes on, watch and either go to bed or work a little more after its over.

Keeps me sane.

I split up my work. I never do an assignment all at once.

If I'm writing an essay, for example..

Day 1: Read a bunch of articles that could be possible sources, pick out the important ones
Day 2: Create an outline for the essay, decide what points I'm going to use
Day 3: Pick quotes and data from sources to use in essay
Day 4: Organize fuller version of outline, with quotes in places that I plan to use them
Day 5: Write a few paragraphs
Day 6: Write a few more paragraphs
Day 7: Put everything together, proofread, done

This is much easier to handle than sitting down, starting from scratch and writing the entire essay in like 6 hours

Hey that's definitely what I do too! I would go insane if I just worked straight for 6 hours O.O. Occasionally I'll check my email, Macinsiders , google something random that pops up in my mind, or maybe listen to some music.

I talk to myself.

Slash pull out the guitar.

Sometimes both.
