First day Tutorial?
I have a tutorial on the first day of classes. What's the deal with this? What does a tutorial cover when no classes have yet been done for the course?

Tutorials start the second (or sometimes third) week of classes.

Basically, if you haven't had a lecture yet you can't have a tutorial. When you have tutorials will be explained in your first lecture.

edit: dammit Chan, you beat me.

You won't have the tutorial. Tutorials/Labs don't start until later in the semester.

Yea, like the others have said, tutorials normally start around the 2nd to 3rd week of classes.

But it's a good idea to go looking for the classroom before your first tutorial. I remember I didn't bother looking for my Psych Tutorial till the day off the class, and was about 15 minutes late (it was in the basement of BSB). It was so confusing.

The tutorial is actually right next door to the class i have immediately before it. I go from TSH B128 to B129. Can I make it in 10 minutes?

You really should go to your first class because your prof will tell you when tutorial starts. One of my classes' tutorials didn't start until like, the last day of September, when we had started on the 4th of September, so it can be close to a month that tutorials don't start. Other classes, could be a week or two.

Most people have said all the important stuff...so I'll just point out that TAs are just as clueless about the course as you are on the first day.

I don't even know what course(s) I will be TAing, and likely won't until Welcome Week. We also have "Graduate Student Day" (formerly "TA Day" which made more sense) which is like TA Orientation day, I think Wednesday Sept. 9th.

I'll second this! I still don't know which class I'm TAing.
