First year and clueless
I've accepted my offer for the Computer Science Co-Op program here and I'm having difficulty with my courses and electives. At the moment my courses are a complete mess but I think I have all the mandatory ones as listed on the Computer Science program page.

I'm really confused as to what the 'cores' and 'tutorials' mean after I was guided to the timetable generator website from the Facebook group. I'm the first person to go to university in my family so I don't have the older sibling to ask.

I'm also having difficulty finding what electives I can take. Can anyone help me out?
I also haven't gotten any email from McMaster since accepting my offer on OUAC Thursday night, should I be worried?

Thanks!

To be honest, I have no idea what to do past accepting my offer.

Cores are lectures that the professor teaches and may or may not take attendance through "iclickers" (interactive multiple choice questions during class) and sometimes they do not post stuff online that they teach, so you may have to go.

Tutorials are when they hire another upper year/grad student to run a smaller class structure where you can more freely ask questions and they usually take up assignments and such, or do more stuff that tends to help with homework. You may or may not find them useful, and depending on the prof it may not be mandatory

As for electives, there are tons of different departments at Mac so it depends on interest. I am in civil engineering but I love geography, so all my electives (all 2 of them) have been in geography. As long as you meet the prerequisites, you can take anything you want

So as long as I have my 18 required points:
Computer Science 1JC3 – Introduction to Computational Thinking
Computer Science 1MD3 – Introduction to Programming
Computer Science 1XA3 – Computer Science Practice and Experience: Basic Concepts
Mathematics 1ZA3 – Engineering Mathematics I
Mathematics 1ZB3 – Engineering Mathematics II – A
Mathematics 1ZC3 – Engineering Mathematics II – B
WHMIS 1A00 – Introduction to Health and Safety

I can take any other courses I want to fulfill the 30 point requirement?
