I am in First Year Engineering and I was searching for 4 month co-op to do this summer.
Does anyone know any companies or any other place which hires first year students?
Has anyone done co-op in their first year?
If so, can someone please help me?

A lot of companies hire first years, now the question would be if the company is willing to hire a first year from McMaster. I highly doubt it, unless you know someone working in the company and can help you bypass HR. I went on a four month co-op term because of just that right after first year. Poke around in your professional and social networks and see if anyone can help you and/or guide you in the right direction!

For future reference you are very late. You should have started sending out resumes in December or latest early January.

Hydro one hires mac first years. So does Venture/Leap (but you are too late by over a month)

you're lucky if you get an interview as a first year. Sadly as a first year you dont gain a whole lot of technical knowledge that organizations are looking for.
