First Year Engineering: 1P03, 1C03 and 1D04.
Whats up people? I'm hoping any of you Mcoldies or McNoobs could help me clarify somethings.

I'm a McNoob, coming this September. I decided to start studying early, to lessen the burden of the enormous course load.

However, I'm confused about the following courses

Eng 1C03: I know this is supposed to be a CAD course for 2D and 3D.

Question 1: Which software/ CAD program is going to be used?

Question 2: Do you have any links to its official course website past questions and assignments?

Eng 1D04: This is a 1st year programming course. Yet again, the Undergraduate Calendar fails to specify the programming language that is going to be used.

If you also have past question papers or assignment materials online, please send me their links.

Thanks.
Ruffy - The confused McNoob.

In 1C03 the CAD program you use is SolidEdge. It costs probably over 9000 dollars, but the school gives it to you for free

1n 1D04, the programming language you use is C#.net. You can get it for free from Microsoft.

As for the last part, sorry, but I'm too lazy to go find all that.

C# is almost the same as Java, except easier :p. If you know Java, you're set.

Surprised I still have this on my computer, I may have more have to check. Anyways heres one of our sample labs that we did in 1D04 (attached). This was one of the harder/hardest ones so if you know whats going on in this one your all set. If you dont have a clue whats going on dont panic lol everything is taught to you in your tutorials.

Edit: Unfortunately everything is on WebCT and unless your in the course there is no way to view it.Heres some demos of what you'll be doing in solid edge (1C03)although not as complex I guess...http://www.plm.automation.si emens....ge/demos.shtml

I'm not sure 100% if this was true, but according to the TAs back in April/March for Eng Design, they were apparently telling me that the course will be switching the software next year. Wasn't sure what, might be something like Solidworks?

Exactly what I'm dreading. Would suck to spend the entire summer prepping up for Uni only to get there and see that they wont even be doing what I prepared maself for.

I just wished Mac could put all the info up explicitly.
