Does anyone have any good ideas for a flash mob? I have to do an assignment where I have to choose one and write an essay on it, but I can't pick something generic (if you can even consider flash mobs generic). By the way, a flash mob is a large group of people who get together in a public place and all do something together at the same time (which is planned) that is abnormal for societal crowds. For example, a group of people got together in a food court in a mall and randomly began singing "Hallelujah!". Everyone else was totally cofused. Sometimes flash mobs have political purpose and are making a statement, but other times they are pointless and just something to do. I need the youtube video. Here's the example:
That definitely made my day. Now I want to make a flash mob. Or rather, be a part of one.

I'm confused, though. Was that made to be an advertisement, or did it happen and then T-Mobile decided to use it as an advertisement? That's good, though! Thanks! Any other suggestions?

Erm...excuse my lack of knowledge, but "flash mob" made me think of a mob of flashers at night...
But a lot of the ones by Improv Everywhere are great. Their annual No Pants Subway Ride day was yesterday in NY, and also takes place in Toronto, just happened sometime this week I think.
Not sure if everything Imrov Everywhere does counts as flash mob, since it's sometimes only a small group, but a lot of the time they ask for a lot of people to participate like the Black Tie Beach.

I wish I remember the group who does this, but every year they plan this huge thing that I think could be considered a flash mob. Essentially everyone involved is wearing some kind of mp3 player that has this recording on it. At the same time, they all play the recording, which tells them what to do. The people around them have no idea what's going on, but sometimes will try to follow along anyway.

Yeah thats ImprovEverywhere. They do some awesome stuff. Ghostbusters in NYC Library is pure win.

There's a group called "ImprovEverywhere ", and they do this kind of stuff all the time. They're amazing. You can easily find them on Youtube.
