i forgot to finish snc1a00 and now the semester is over...
so now when i go on solar, the thing says that "FAILED" for the prereqs of two of my courses.
but it doesnt say anything on the follow up courses.
what does it mean.

ask someone in your faculty
visit their website.

They offer sessions in 2nd term too I'm sure.

Again, email an academic advisor from your faculty.

I did my sci 1a00 couple days ago...
& if it is open for you on WebCt you pretty much can do it.
The only difference is that they will update your "FAIL" status around mid-january...
since you will be required this requisite for chem1aa3 & bio 1a03 you will need to re-register on solar for term 2, but as soon as they update your sci 1aa00 status - they will automatically remove it from your SOLAR.

I emailed the science faculty & these were the instructions I got.

thanks sooooo much for that info, wajahan! I was so stressed about this and it was a relief to see that response. I had completed the quiz, but I guess not early enough.

A few more questions:

1) When you say re-register, are you referring to Science 1A00 or the co-requisites (i.e - Chem 1A03, Kin 1Y03 etc...)?

2) Will there be any changes in the payment? When I tried registering for Science 1A00 in semester 2, I noticed that my tuition fees increased from about $4600 to $5600. Will they automatically refund that money as well?

And just to clarify, according to them, we will be automatically removed from that course correct?

1A00 (T2) as a repeat course. Once our office receives the grade change
in early January, we will remove the repeated Science 1A00 (T2) on your

I had to register for science 1A00 as well, and I got a 'Failed' on my report too because I haven't done it yet. I know I have heard from my prof that we have to have it finished by the end of the year in order to continue in the program. I think it says that in the course calender somewhere too.

So I wouldn't worry. Your program might be different but you can still do it next semester. I didn't know that you had to re-register for it though..

Thanks for the input. I emailed the faculty advisor, and this is the reply I got:

The marks for people who registered for the course in Term 1 were due on Dec 5. I will be getting an updated grade sheet from EOHSS on Jan 5, so any students who passed the quiz after Dec 5 will have a change of grade done for their student record. The F will then be changed to COM. If SOLAR is not allowing you to change courses due to the F in Science 1A00, just add Science 1A00 in Term 2 as a repeat course. Then when we do the change of grade we will also drop the Term 2 Science 1A00 for you, but in the meantime it will allow you to change your courses for Term 2.

So, I don't think you need to re-register if you don't have any changes to make to your second semester courses.

Hey guys. I just did the quiz (and passed) like an hour ago. Do I have nothing to worry about now, or do I still have to re-add my term 2 courses (like CHEM 1AA3). And if I have to re-add, would my schedule change? I have an awesome schedule right now and that would suck.

You don't have to change your other courses - Chem 1AA3 etc... However, if you want make any changes to your courses, then you need to re-register for Science 1A00 only. If you don't have to make any changes, then the faculty advisor said that you don't need to worry about anything. It will take until mid-January (12th-16th) for them to upgrade your status on MUGSI from an F to a COM.
