What do you mean by...Germans?" lol If "Germans" is code-word for something else, then I'm sorry, I didn't mean to mislead.

There actually are some, not a lot, but they exist. There are quite a few non-german german speakers on campus though, and I know that because I frequently hear people in deep conversation in german, which sounds completely random.

I think the confusion may be coming from the fact that we're not sure if you mean actual German citizens (who would be here as international students, for example) or Canadians of German heritage (like how I would describe myself as "Italian").
I knew a couple of the latter, if that helps :p

Haha, nope, sorry, they've graduated. I'm sure other Germans have come by now to replace them, though :p

They better! lol Otherwise I'll be a complete loner (at least culturally). I met a lot of people my age who are of German descent in high school, but none speak German or actually have any German in them, if you know what I mean. I'm just really hoping that'll be different in university, so I'm getting kinda over-excited now. lol

I'm one of those German Canadian people who doesn't speak German unfortunately. I'm hoping to learn someday and visit Germany. As for 'have any German in them' i don't know whether i would fall under that category or not lol.

And I can understand you wanting to go to Germany. I'm hoping to go next summer. It's very nice, if you ask me.....and if you don't mind the tons of evil glares you get from random people all the time. lol No, we're not that bad.......well, yeah, actually we pretty much are! Haha

If you're interested in years past the German club has met a few times monthly to view German films and then go to the pub for drinks. It's run by Dr. Kazecki and Dr. Retzlaff of the modern languages department. I'm not sure what the status of it is, but I'm sure Herr Kazecki will continue running them.
Bis Später Kayli und wilkommen bei unserer Uni
