Where to get suit jacket modified?
Does anyone have a store (affordable) to recommend for getting a suit jacket modified?

I mainly looking to tighten up the jacket around the waist, and possibly reduce shoulder pad thickness.

Thanks!

Hey Allan. I've only got mine done at Harry Rosen. Make sure if you use someone in Hamilton that you have a good referral from someone who has used them before. Or give them cheaper clothing before handing over your suit so you can see the quality of their work (e.g. give them a dress shirt to dart or something).

I've not heard great stuff about stitch it for anything above simple tasks. Find a real, established tailor for a suit if it wasn't cheap. Make sure they have good reviews. It is worth it. You will look fiiiiiine.

Depends how much you get done and where. I probably dropped about 80 or 100.

There is a place in Westdale and they did mine for I think $30 after tax. I think that included reducing the waist size and I think they fixed the arm length a little bit, so I am not sure if shoulder pads would be extra.

I get mine done from a Tailor in Jackson Square. She's been pretty great so far for the three jackets I took to her with waist, length, shoulders, arms etc (Thrifted/Ebay'd stuff). I don't recall the name of the store but it's right next to and down from Anchor Bar. Cost depends on what part of the jacket but you'd be looking at $30-60.
