Getting a job on or close to Campus
Hi guys,

I gonna post it here, since the financial aid section seems to be slow.

I was wondering if its possible to get a part-time job near or on campus? Do they usually hire, or is there too many people applying to even try? Any suggestions?

I am not talking about the work study program, but the general food places, stores, etc around and on the campus area.

You have to be in financial need, and I don't think I would fully fit that criteria.

You could always ask/drop in your resume. Why not work study program? You are in financial need if you are on OSAP. You could still try to apply for jobs on campus if you are not on OSAP I think you just have to fill out some forms.

Not everyone gets approved for those forms but you should definitely try this!

definitely try!
last year i was in need of a job and decided to try and hand in my resume to Williams (one of the cafés we have on campus...)
ended up getting a job that i really enjoy coming back this year too...
my manager got applications every once in a while but it's not like there were TOO many people applying...
just try and hand in your resume as soon as you get here and see what happens!

You could always try the Starbucks and Shoppers.

Definitely try places on Main as well as in Westdale.

The best tip I can give you is to apply to places that you know have hired students for the summer. I know for a fact that one of the employees at Shoppers goes to school in Guelph. So obviously he'd need a replacement.

Best of luck!
