Going from chemical and physical science to Honours life science
Hi,

I am a first year student currently enrolled in the chemical and physical sciences 1 program. I understand that this is one of the gateway programs, so I can go into honours life science in year 2. However, I have a question regarding the courses I need. It says that students in chemical and physical sciences should take math 1A03 and math 1AA3. But math 1AA3 is not a requirement for admission to honours life science in year 2. So my question is do I need to take math 1AA3 or not? Is it only required if I'm continuing in physical science? Basically, is there a such thing as particular courses you have to take to satisfy the requirements of the program that you're currently in, even if they are not required for the level 2 program you want to get into? Just one request, please answer if you really know because I will most likely base my decision of swapping math 1AA3 on what you say. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure you still need to take Math 1AA3. If you look at any of the Level II programs in the undergraduate calendar, they all require completion of "any level I program" and since Math 1AA3 is required for your level I program, I would assume you would still need to take it even if your Level II program does not need it for admission. But go see an academic advisor ASAP just to be 100% sure. The people at the front desk can probably answer your question.
