Hi there,
I work in FHS over at the Health Sciences. I have always been proud and supportive of all of you. You are the backbone of this institution. Without you, I wouldn't have a place to call my second home.
In any case, just to reaffirm my belief that we have the best students ever, let me relate something that happened to me this morning. I went over to the MDCL building for my usual morning Tim's and muffin. When it came time to pay up, I searched through my purse and noticed that my wallet was missing.
Lo and behold, a wonderful student behind me offered to pay on her student card. I was a little embarrassed and just told the cashier that I would be back later when I had my wallet...(I was going to call my boyfriend at home and ask that he bring my wallet down to Mac; as it turns out, I left it on the kitchen table.) She would not take no for an answer and insisted that she would pay.
I prodded her for her name, thinking that I could just use my credit card and reimburse her for the costs on her meal card, but the system won't allow me to do this.
Ms. Subic, if you're out there and reading this, I promise you that I will get you back. If I knew what program you were based in, I would have the money sent over to you. You are an angel and made my day with what you did for me.
Thanks so much for being a Good, no GREAT Samaritan...if I can't pay you back, at least allow me to pay it forward somehow.
Cheers,
Denise
