When is a Good Time to Place Tutorials?
I know that our tutorials and labs are assigned to us in August, but we still have the ability to move them around if other options are available.

I was wondering if it was better to have a tutorial before or after the core class or on a separate day?

Thanks in advance

I prefer to have them later in the week, that way you have more time to get prepared and will definately have all lectures necessary for the tutorial/lab. Also helps to know someone who has it earlier in the week and can give you a heads up about the content

Thanks What about a tutorial in the middle? Like I have a core class on Mondays and Wednesdays. Would there be any benefits to me taking in on Tuesdays?

Generally, material from tutorials is either based on lecture content from the week prior, or irrelevant to lecture material alltogether (learn new material in tutorials). Depends on the course really, but you will have no advantage of taking a tuesday tutorial.

I know you don't have labs, but caution to students planning on taking three hour labs at 8:30 in the morning. STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN. Nothing worse than staying up all night to finish a lab write-up and then doing another lab right after.

Adding onto what Farid said, it's better to keep it in the second half of the week, i.e. Wed-Friday. However, it really all depends on you and if you're a morning person or not. In your position though, I don't think a Tuesday tutorial would put you at an advantage or a disadvantage because usually tutorials are placed so that everyone is on the same page when it comes to material, so you'll be fine either way .

Don't listen to Sara. There's no such thing as a morning person. She's wrong!

Core is where prof lectures you about stuff.

Tutorials are where TAs do exercises with you (depends on course though).

Labs are painful. Nuff said.

Dammit Sara, stop living on campus and suffer like the rest of us!

Nothing like falling asleep on the bus and waking up when the b-line makes a sharp 180 turn at the hospital

Depends on the lab, but labs reports are definitively a pain in upper years. Just all the citing... so many citations *faints*
