Well I have no science courses, so I won't be experiencing labs/lab reports . I have one core showing up on SOLAR for Engineer 1A00 o_o I just selected C01. What does the '01' represent? D:

Nothing, that's just your safety training course (online I beleive).

But for other courses, search them using this and figure out which core you want (if there are multiple).

Yeah, it's just like a one day thing I beleive and is on a pass/fail basis. Do mostly science courses have cores/tutorials? None of my other classes are giving me an option of picking my cores/tutorials but in the quick summaries on them they state there are a few lectures (cores). D;

Most engineering courses have tutorials and labs too. You don't pick them on SOLAR until AUG 10 though. Good idea to make a mock schedule using the link I provided in the pervious post. Go through all your courses and see if any of them have more than just C0X (tutorials will be TXX and labs will be LXX).

Thing is, I'm not in Engineering, just in their Faculty. xD I'll check nonetheless for each of my courses I selected (if I can). Thanks Farid.

If the tutorials are based on information from the previous week, then why would it generally not be good to have a tutorial right before or after the core class? or in the middle of two cores for the same class?

We're not saying that it's a BAD idea, but moreso that it doesn't matter where the tutorial goes.

i.e. tutorials don't help with lectures, and having them close to lectures won't affect your tutorial performance in any way.

Throw them into the second half of the week if you have the option, though.

They're not always based on the week before. Sometimes lectures fall behind and tutorials can be ahead. So all we're saying is it doesn't really matter, but in the rare event that the tutorial or lecture schedule gets messed up, you're safer to have your tutorial later on in the week.

Don't forget risking that you might sleep in and miss a lab, which will definitely screw you over...
